(01.10.2025) New rice, cassava varieties with high yield, disease resilience introduced

The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) has introduced new varieties of rice and cassava that are resistant to diseases and provide high yields.

Based on experiments in the rainy season of 2024 and dry season of 2024-2025, it is found that a new variety of rice has a short growing period of 87 to 90 days, produces soft and fragrant rice, and has a yield of between 6 and 6.5 tonnes per hectare.
