On 02 December 2022, CJBI and CJCC successfully organized the Memorandum of Understanding Signing Ceremony (MOU) with Yokohama Management School Based on Philosophy under different purposes. The signing between CJCC and Yokohama side is to provide fund for the translation of Inamori Kazuo’s book Ikikata while the signing between CJBI and Yokohama Management School is to create learning opportunities together between Japanese and Cambodian sides based on Mr. Inamori’s business philosophy and business philosophy based on Buddhism. In this wonderful occasion, we were honored to have a presence of Ambassador of Japan to Cambodia, Mr. Mikami Masahiro. He mentioned this ceremony is a positive sign to strengthen Japan-Cambodia bilateral relations and help to enhance people-to-people diplomacy and exchange of ideas in doing business.

Moreover, Mr. Hamada Soichiro from Yokohama Management School and Mr. Ikeda Naruo, from Kyocera Corporation, offered a gracious presence and provided a great sharing session including how to develop people and organization based on Inamori’s business philosophy in this momentous event. The well-known phrase in philosophy of Mr. Inamori is “Living in the right way as human being”. Human spirit is the key to unlock a secret to success in both life and business because it plays decisive roles in the way you look at things in every aspect of life, stated by Mr. Hamada as quoted from Mr. Inamori.

On the other hand, we also have an honorable presence by H.E. Dr. Mey Kalyan and Mr. Ieng Sotheara, who have utilized Buddhism philosophy to develop their companies, sharing the thought-provoke reflection in this event. H.E. Dr. Kalyan stated that in Cambodia, the material prosperity has been improved significantly, however, material and ethical prosperities have to go hand in hand. With more opportunities to learn about Mr. Inamori’s business philosophy, it is believed that business ethics practices will be enhanced in Cambodia more effectively and smoothly together with learning their own philosophy and ethics based on Buddhism, added by Mr. Sotheara.

Overall, 135 participants from various sectors joined the event and actively participated during the Questions-Answer Session. It is believed that this event will serve as one of the keystones of the bilateral relationship between Cambodia and Japan since both countries will mark a 70th anniversary of the diplomatic relationship in 2023.
