Cambodia moves to support garment workers

In collaboration with owners of textile and apparel factories, the Cambodia government has started a program to help people who have lost their jobs as a result of economic crisis. According to Heng Sour, a spokesman for the Ministry of Labour, more than 70 factories have closed across the nation. From April 2023 onward, the Royal Government will provide $40 and the factory sponsor for $30 for a total of US $70 per month to workers who have been suspended from their employment contracts. During the meeting between the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training, this support was expressed.
