With the Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) set to take place in Cambodia for the first time in May, the country is promoting sports tourism as part of its Visit Cambodia year 2023 campaign. According to Prak Vuthy, director of the Ministry of Tourism’s overseas marketing and promotion department, the events will act as main actor to promote sports tourism across the country. This year, Cambodia will host the SEA Games and ASEAN Para Games from May 5 to May 17, followed by the ASEAN Para Games from June 3 to June 9. Deputy Director General of Both events are scheduled to welcome between 250,000 and 500,000 foreign visitors.
