Webinar on “Healthcare Startups in Cambodia”

A successful Webinar on Healthcare Business/Start-ups in Cambodia was organized on November 2nd, 2023 by CJBI, CJCC, and JICA, with the support of Kiraboshi Bank, Ltd., Kiraboshi Consulting Co., Ltd., the Kanto Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry, and Khmer Enterprise (KE). It aimed to introduce potential Cambodian Healthcare Start-ups to Japanese companies and facilitate business matching between Cambodian and Japanese companies in the healthcare sector.

The webinar commenced with an opening remark from Mr. Sato Shohei, Assistant Director, Team 1, Private Sector Development Group, Economic Development Department, JICA Headquarter. This was followed by a lecture on the Current Situation of the Cambodian Economy by Mr. MASUDA Chikahiro, Chief Advisor of CJCC. Additionally, Mr. SUZUKI Mudai from JICA Cambodia Office presented an overview of the Health Sector in Cambodia, while Mr. Kamata Keiya, CEO of Sunrise Japan Hospital, shared insights as Japanese entrepreneurs doing business in Cambodia. Subsequently, five Cambodian potential speakers who have tried to bring innovation in Cambodia with new ideas and technologies namely from Hospicare Cambodia, Much Mobile Healthcare Co., Ltd, Pethyoeung Healthtech Co., Ltd, PillTech Solutions Co., Ltd and Vissar Healthcare Group, were invited to present their company profiles and share their perspective on finding business partners.

The webinar successfully engaged around 60 Japanese and Cambodian business people, indicating a growing interest from Japanese companies to collaborate with Cambodian counterparts. This presents a valuable opportunity for Cambodian businesses to establish connections with Japanese partners and foster stronger ties between Cambodia and Japan.
