Siem Reap’s SAI welcomes first flight

Cambodia's Siem Reap Angkor International Airport (SAI) celebrated its first commercial flight on October 16, marking a significant milestone in the country's tourism development post-Covid-19. The airport, which is located in the Sotr Nikum area of Siem Reap, is expected to welcome 38 airlines and carry 10,000 tonnes of air cargo in 2024 and increase to 26,000 tonnes by 2040. It is also anticipated to receive 65,000 flights in 2024 and elevate to 112,000 by 2040. The official inauguration is scheduled for November 16, with Cambodian and Chinese diplomats in attendance.
