National Park commits to support tree planting campaign

The Jayavarman-Norodom Phnom Kulen National Park is committed to support Minister of Environment (MoE) Eang Sophalleth’s campaign to plant one million trees annually by providing seedlings. This nursery project is in alignment with the Environmental Circular Strategy 2023-2028, aimed at steering Cambodia towards becoming a carbon-neutral country by 20250. The director of the park, Kong Varong, expanded the nursery size to 43x52 meters to accommodate more than 72,000 seedlings in preparation for the tree planting initiative. He mentioned that local schools, pagodas, and communities also took part in this campaign, making his ambition extend beyond the initial goal of seeding 50,000 trees annually to seeding over 70,000 trees each year.
