The Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) is the free trade agreement between ASEAN member states and the FTA partners namely Japan, China, South Korea, Australia, and New Zealand. As one of the ASEAN member states, Cambodia is in a great position to expand its trade with miscellaneous neighboring partners. The country can be able to gain lots of benefits such as job creation, innovation, and investment through these free trade agreements. Anthony Gill, a country director for Cambodia of Asian Development Bank (ADB) mentioned that despite there being lots of opportunities for the country, Cambodian businesses still need to optimize the benefits of these agreements by improving their skills and technology innovation in order to strengthen their competitiveness in the region (Anonymous, 2022).
